by Daniel Jones, 04.07.2010
Though most major cities reduced their construction work force, 10 metro areas increased construction employment between February 2009 and February 2010 according to the Associated General Contractors of America. Though not large, as sited by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, any news of growth in the Construction industry is good news in today's climate.
A few of the Metro areas experiencing growth included Ithaca, NY; Grand Forks, ND; Bismarck, ND; El Paso, TX; Haverhill-North Andover-Amesbury, Massachusetts-New Hampshire; Syracuse, NY; Lafayette, LA. Leading the pack was Eau Claire, WI, adding 600 new construction jobs (29% increase).
