Mississippi Space Center Museum to Begin Construction May 1st.

The building, owned and operated by a not-for-profit organization, will be on land owned by NASA, which has already done about $11 million in site preparation, infrastructure and building readiness work, says John Wilson, Infinity education program developer.
It has been designed along LEED guidelines but the owners likely will not seek certification, instead using the funds for exhibits, he says. Anderson’s contract for $15.6 million was “significantly lower” than planners initially projected, he says.
The building is a two-story steel structure with glass walls on one side and one end allowing light for visitors to see exhibits, do hands-on experiments and participate in “missions” about the earth, its oceans and outer space..........read more
