A seminar taking place on 3 November in Swindon aims to answer key questions facing the construction industry as it considers the outcome of the government's Comprehensive Spending Review, due to be announced in late October. The Chartered Institute of Marketing Construction Industry Group (CIMCIG) is hosting The Future for the Construction Economy: Finding the Opportunities at the National Self-Build & Renovation Centre.
Said CIMCIG Committee Member, Annette Harpham: "The Government has made it apparent that there are tough times ahead. As the first major regional event for CIMCIG in the South West, this seminar will allow delegates the opportunity to have their concerns addressed, and most importantly ensure that they are well prepared for the impact of the government's Spending Review and know where to locate significant opportunities."
The Future for the Construction Economy seminar will be presented by one of the industry's most respected economists, Dr Noble Francis, Economics Director at the Construction Products Association. He will provide expert analysis of the Spending Review and its effect on construction, which will be followed by a question and answer session.
The seminar will tackle a variety of questions including:
• What will the comprehensive Spending Review mean for construction?
• Who will be the worst hit, and when?
• Will any parts of the industry remain relatively unscathed?
• What are the prospects and forecasts for various industry sectors?
• What will be the impact on the South West? And most importantly:
• Where are the opportunities?
The Future for the Construction Economy seminar programme is CPD approved, contributing 1 hour towards Chartered Marketer status. It also provides an opportunity for construction marketers within the region to meet and network with industry peers. The event takes place at 6.00pm on 03 November at The National Self-Build & Renovation Centre, Great Western Way, Swindon, SN5 8UB. The National Self-Build & Renovation Centre is home to a unique display of permanent building products and impressive exhibits including three full-size houses.
