Bangalore’s second edition of BuildArch 2011 kick- started in the city . The exhibition was inaugurated at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) by several luminaries of industry. Scheduled from 23rd to the 26th February 2011, Build Arch will showcase an exhaustive range of technologies and technological advancements in the field of architecture, building & construction technologies, interiors and systems.
The four-day exhibition was inaugurated by . K. Appi Reddy (Vice President - Builders Association of India), Ar. Vidyadhar S. Wodeyar (Chairman- Indian Institute of Architects – Karnataka Chapter), . M S Sudarshan(Chairman - Association of Consulting Civil Engineers - Bangalore Centre) and Leena Kumar (Chairman - Indian Institute of Interior Designers – Bangalore Regional Chapter), . Abhijit Mukherjee(Managing Director - Bangalore International Exhibition Services) and . Sudhir Patil(Managing Director - Hannover Milano Fairs India).
In his inaugural address, . K. Appi Reddy (Vice President - Builders Association of India) said, “Construction industry is an integral part of a country’s infrastructure and industrial development. Covering as it does such a wide spectrum, construction becomes the basic input for socio-economic development. Therefore, it is important to streamline functioning of the construction sector to get a larger share of the global business. These functions would include formulation of business-friendly policies, development of insurance instruments to mitigate the business risks and adoption of aggressive marketing of the Indian construction industry abroad, etc. to list a few.”
Leena Kumar shared her perception about the Indian Market and said, “Interior decorating is a burgeoning industry in India. Though formerly seen as a facet of architecture, the growing middle class has caused an increased demand for custom-designed decor and furnishings. With enormous business opportunities and favorable demographics, India stands with a firm hold on the industry with world-class potential. It is worthy that exhibitions like BuildArch and competitions like ‘Save as You Build’ are encouraging the industry enthusiasts and contribution to the sector’s competitiveness.”
Chairman - Association of Consulting Civil Engineers - Bangalore Centre, . M.S. Sudarshan said, “Indian economy is expected to grow at 9 percent per annum and the building and construction industry plays a vital role in economic growth. India is fast emerging on the global map of construction industry and exhibitions like these provide a good platform to showcase the latest trends in this sector and a venue for industry experts and consumers to interact.”
BuildArch 2011 and BuildFloor 2011 will host participation from five countries including New Zealand, Italy, Korea, Turkey and India.
BuildArch 2011 will focus on high end technology for sectors like Construction, Green buildings, Interiors, IT Systems, etc.. Other highlights at the exhibition are:
Zero Energy Space model display: This is a first of it’s kind initiative to showcase a
self-sustaining building with the best green building materials available worldwide. This revolutionary concept has the potential to save 40% of the world’s total energy consumption.
Prototype Zone: This zone showcases all the shortlisted models of a competition of Architects organized by BIES based on the theme - ‘Save as you Build’.
Bangalore International Exhibition Services (BIES) is bringing this exhibition in association with Hannover Milano Fairs India (HMFI). Synchronized with BuildArch, the exhibition also has a concurrent fair – Build Floor 2011
